It is time for our monthly thrift store decor upcyle challenge! This is a favorite challenge of mine because I love to scour thrift stores and find something that really doesn’t look like much and turn it into a gem!
- Upcycle an item(s) from a thrift store, resale store, or garage sale into a new piece of decor.
- There’s no monthly theme.
- There’s no budget to stick to.

There is a large thrift store in New Hampshire that I always go to when visiting my daughter. They have the best finds for ridiculous prices. This time I narrowed it down to these two items:
I’m not sure if this is a stool or a seat, but it was only $2 and I knew I could give it a makeover! It folds in half too!
These trays can be found in most thrift stores. It’s very pretty, but not my style. The tray was $1 as it was half-off! While I know they don’t look like much now, see what a little creativity can do?
I recovered the stool with white cotton duck fabric and fringed the edges. I painted the legs in a pretty dove gray.
I had an image transfer from iron orchid designs and added that to the tray after two coats of paint.
A perfect little side Table with serving tray and extra seat if needed.
And now for more thrifty goodness!
