Happy New Year!  One of my goals this year is to improve my blog & hopefully grow Our Crafty Mom.

What better day to start then today, so I finally made the switch to WordPress & purchased the domain-scary & exciting.

My first project for the New Year was to create a cotton ball wreath. I have always loved these, but they can be quite pricey.

Take a look at one here:

You see that price? Want to make one for under $5? Let’s do it!

How To Make A Farmhouse Cotton Ball Wreath

Supplies

  • Dollar Store Foam Wreath
  • Bag of Cotton Balls
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scrap Fabric

Step 1.

Wrap the wreath form with the scrap fabric so the green wreath form is covered. Add a little hot glue to the initial piece of fabric and the end of the fabric.

Step 2.

Get your hot glue gun ready & 2 pulled apart cotton balls together. Hot glue individual pieces of cotton to the wreath form.

Keep going until your wreath is full. I basically did 3 rows.

Step 3.

Take some pine cones & break the ends off. Glued pieces of pine cone around the sides until it looks uniform.

Granted, it’s not exactly like the inspiration, but it is so pretty & for under $5 you can’t beat it! These look great hung on old windows, or inside an empty frame.

Love the way this turned out, much easier to make than the cotton ball stems! Excellent tutorial.
