No-Sew Pillow Cases From A Shower Curtain

Sharing is caring!

I wanted to share the no-sew pillow cases that I just finished up from an old shower curtain!

The curtain was very pretty, but had a few stains on the bottom. I knew right away it would make perfect pillow cases. Unfortunately, I don’t sew at all. However, I have made pillows in the past that were no-sew and they have held up very well.   I simply folded the shower curtain in half twice.

Use your fabric scissors to cut the appropriate size. The great thing about this shower curtain was it had these awesome metal rings. I decided to use the rings as the edge of the pillow.

That way I could use pretty ribbon to close it and would still be able to take the pillow out for washing. Also, by folding the fabric over the bottom of the pillow, you only have to close two sides.

I knew I wanted to transfer an image and used the French saying for good night, which is bonne nuit, found at one of my favorite sites,  The Graphics Fairy. This link is to the exact image I used.

There is a great tutorial on her website for transferring onto fabric. I actually used citra solv which works great! Basically, you print the graphic out on a LASER printer-it cannot be inkjet, or it won’t transfer. It also has to be a mirror image.

Tape the graphic to the fabric.

Use a foam brush to cover the image with citra solv. Once this is done, use a spoon to rub hard on the image. You really need to apply pressure to get a nice transfer.

Bonne Nuit

It’s like magic!

Once this was done, I folded the pillow case inside out and used stitch witchery to close the 2 sides. If you have not used this product before, it is great for no-sew projects! Very inexpensive and easy to use. It is activated by heat, so just follow the directions using an iron.

I then folded the case right side out. It has a very finished look. There you have it. I just love these pillows and the graphic takes boring white cases & transfers them into a French beauty! Thanks for visiting.
