I was invited to a huge Summer Barbecue this past weekend.

I have been going the last couple of years & when I tell you there is a ton of food, I mean a ton!

Therefore, I never know what to bring. I usually bring some type of dessert.

I was perusing Pinterest hoping something would jump out at me & sure enough I saw vodka infused strawberries.

This group is also known for really cool shots after dinner, so I thought this might be a nice treat during that time. Kind of like a dessert shot!

They were so simple to make & they were gone in the blink of an eye, so I think that means they were well liked.

Several people asked for the recipe as well, which is also a good sign.

Here is the super simple recipe:

Vodka Infused Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Ingredients

  • Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka
  • Strawberries
  • Godiva Baking Chocolate

Instructions

I bought the largest strawberries I could find & ended up with 2 lbs of organic strawberries.

I purchased a bottle of Pinnacle Chocolate Whipped Cream Vodka & simply washed the fruit well, then put them in a sealed container & poured the entire bottle of vodka over them.

Let them sit for 24 hours in the fridge.

This picture shows a bag of chocolate melts, but at the last minute I ended up getting godiva baking chocolate as I really wanted to use good chocolate.

I do think it was worth it.

The next morning take them out lightly pat with a paper towel & dip them in chocolate putting them on parchment or wax paper to solidify.

I left them in the fridge until it was time to leave, then put them on a nice platter with a sign that said “21 & over”.

The Hostess also made sure she kept them separate from the regular desserts so no kiddos would get their hands on one!

The cool thing is you also have the vodka left over which now has the taste of strawberries!

I drained it twice to get the little pieces of stems out.

I kept this for me though 🙂 I hope you will give these chocolate covered strawberries a try.

Omgee, I need to buy some chocolate vodka. We just picked 8lbs of strawberries and I need to do something with them. This sounds like a perfect treat for me :-)
