Both my kids loved the book Where the Wild Things Are growing up. I thought it was a little scary, but with the age difference of close to five years between my son and daughter it was one of the few books they both liked! As this was my niece’s favorite book as well and we are planning her Baby Shower, I thought it would be cool to put out her copy of the book & have people sign it with a little note to the baby. I was looking up ideas on Pinterest with this theme & came across a Where the Wild Things Are Silhouette picture that I just loved. I thought we could display it on the table when the guests come in with the book. I simply printed out an image of the Wild Thing and colored chalk on the back of the paper then taped it to a 12 x 12 board that I had cut at Lowes. I then traced over the image with a ball point pen & the chalk transfers. I use this method with most of my wood signs when I don’t have a stencil. I then used a sharpie paint pen to trace it & filled it in with acrylic paint. I used a sharpie to free hand the letters. I am absolutely in love with it & think the saying is so appropriate for a nursery, as I am sure there will be a little “rumpus” going on with a newborn!
