As you know from my prior posts, I love making signs out of old wood. I scored a bunch of free pallet boards and wanted to make a large sign listing some of my favorite Cities that I have been blessed enough to visit. I can never thank my sister, Lori, enough for letting me […]
I have been working on Thanksgiving place settings and saw these cute wedding favor terrarium’s. I thought they would be perfect to sit at each place setting. I am personalizing each one with items that mean something to that person. This is for my sister and the yellow Rose means so much to my family […]
I fell in love with the beautiful deer silhouette that www.TheRusticPig.com was kind enough to share with us. I followed her tutorial using an old dresser mirror. I did have to prime the mirror first and used 4 coats of chalkboard paint. I also used Annie Sloan paint on both the wood frame and deer.
I love Alex & Ani bracelets and a few months ago my friend, Cindy, (Simplystampingwithcindy) showed me her gorgeous bracelet with the saying “let creativity rule”. I fawned over it then decided to treat myself but when I went to buy it they no longer sell it. I guess it was a promotion, so […]
I have been busy with some signs as I had a bunch of pallet boards and leftover wood I wanted to use. Mostly, I just like making them. I am most excited about this old board I found in the woods behind my house. No idea where it came from or how old […]
In this day and age with school bullying rampant, I speak to my daughter all the time about being true to herself and not a follower. My daughter is definitely an individual. She loves clothes from Hot Topic, which means lots of skulls! Living in the country, this sometimes does not blend in with the […]
I have been working on a few sign requests. The first is for a coworker who lives on a beautiful farm in CT. She wanted a sign to hang outside her chicken coop and I thought rustic pallet wood would be perfect. My dad angled the edges for me and she seemed to love it. […]
I have been seeing these really cool coffee bars posted on Pinterest and I wanted to free up space on my counter so, I got to work on a kitchen buffet I had, first giving it a quick coat of Annie Sloan old white. I made a coffee bar sign for the top, added my […]
I enjoy this time of year with the humidity fading away and life getting back to a somewhat normal routine, with kids going back to school and a slower pace during the work/school week. I crave down time sitting on either my porch swing or rocker reading, surfing, blogging and creating. I totally could be […]
Had a few days off so decided to work (play) on some painting projects. I had Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue from another sign so used that for this Life Is Good sign. For the letters I used ballet pink acrylic paint. Light stain of minwax mahogany.
