DEER PILLOW TUTORIAL FROM A TOTE BAG ~NO SEW~

Sharing is caring!

I thought I would do a quick tutorial to show you how easy it is to paint a silhouette image. It doesn’t have to be a deer. I just know deer images are very popular now & I thought with the Holidays approaching it would be perfect. Since I don’t sew, I usually buy pillow covers from Hobby Lobby for about $5-6 with a coupon. This time I found this great canvas bag for $3.99. These make perfect pillows. Plus, it had this adorable gold hello script one one side. You just cut the handles off to use as a pillow.

I did a Google search for deer silhouette & found the one I liked. I printed it out & cut it as shown below. Center it on the pillow & add a little painters tape.

Then trace around the image in pencil.

Then just paint the image whatever color you’d like. I use acrylic paint.

Now just place a pillow form inside the bag 16 X 16 fits perfect in this tote bag & either use fabric glue, hot glue or stitch whitchery to close up the top. Of course if you sew, even better! A beautiful double sided pillow for $10 & an hour of your time! If you make one, I would love to see. You could even paint a child silhouette. The possibilities are endless.
