DIY Wood Holiday Sign-Craft Lightning

For today’s project I wanted to use some leftover scrap wood to make a DIY Holiday Sign. I was inspired by a sign I saw at the craft store. 


It looked easy enough to make so I gave it a go. Here is what I used:

DIY Wood Holiday Sign

Supplies

Scrap Wood 1 x 4  & 1 x 3
1″ Wood Screws
DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint, 2-Ounce, Prussian Blue
Sharpie Oil-Based Paint Marker, Medium Point, White, 1-Count
Tulip Bulk Bundle Dimensional Fabric Paint 4 Oz Glitter Silver 3 Pack,Silver
Foam Brush

I cut out a star 4 x 4 with copy paper and attached it to the board with adhesive spray in the lower corner. Then I painted the board with two coats of acrylic paint.

Once it dried, I removed the star.

I used chalk to write O Holy Night free hand as I wanted it to have that script look and then traced over it with the sharpie. However, I wasn’t happy with how it looked so I used the silver glitter to give it some dimension.
