Christmas Camper Pallet Wood Sign

While at the Dollar Store I spotted the most adorable Holiday Gift Bags.

There were two that I was immediately drawn to-a little red truck gift bag and a retro camper gift bag.

Both these items are unbelievably popular this Holiday season.

Everywhere you go you see some version of a Christmas red truck or camper.

But I loved them so much that I didn’t just want to use them as a bag and I certainly didn’t want to give them away!

So I decided to make signs out of them! Let me show you how.

Supplies

  • Pallet Wood
  • Dollar Store Gift Bag
  • White Paint
  • Mod Podge

My Dad puts together these pallet wood signs for me to use for different projects.

You can find free pallets at many stores or sometimes on the side of the road.

I painted this one in a whitewash finish.

Next, cut the Dollar Store gift bag to fit the size of the pallet wood sign.

Isn’t this bag just adorable? Next, cut the gift bag into three pieces to fit on the pallet wood.

Finally, adhere it to the pallet wood with Mod Podge. I add Mod Podge both to the wood and to the back of the gift bag.

Then I seal the top with an additional coat of Mod Podge.

See how easy that was? Now as the pallet wood was free and the gift bag was $1, this entire project cost a whopping $3 to make with the cost of 1/4 bottle of Mod Podge.

You can’t beat that! So remember the little red truck gift bag I mentioned above?

If you want to see what I made with that, along with another gift bag upcycle, please see my guest post at Centsible Chateau.

A great way to recycle a gift bag :-) I found this a bit too late but will definitely try it out on other purposes like valentines or thanksgiving. Although i think it's quite a shame that I couldn't make this part of my Christmas 2017 decorations. I recently bought a nutcracker due to this article: https://www.cuckooforest.com/blogs/cuckoo-forest-blog/nutcrackers-that-actually-crack-nuts and the pallet wood sign would definitely look good with it on a side table like yours.
