My friend Elaine, who I have literally known since I was 15-(that’s a lot of years) asked me to refinish the top of her beautiful cherry table. I was a little nervous because it is a beautiful piece of furniture, however, the top had a large stain. She wanted a white finish, but wanted some of the cherry to show. I had so much fun with this technique. I took a dry brush and slowly started with old white, then distressed with sandpaper (hoping Santa brings me a sander!). I then added Annie Sloan clear wax, let that dry then buffed it out, added a little Annie dark wax, went over again with clear and buffed it out in the morning. It almost looks like marble. It really is so cool what Annie’s paint can do.
