When we were building our home over 15 years ago I had two must haves, a farmer’s porch and a fireplace. They are my two favorite features to this day and it is not just for decorating. There is nothing like relaxing by the fire in the cold New England winters and sitting on the porch swing or rocker with a good book and a glass of lemonade in the Summer. I bought this armoire when I first got married in 1988 and I still love it, although lately I’ve been thinking of painting it. I am obsessed with the armoire in Blue Egg, Brown Nests bedroom, but I don’t think I could accomplish that yet. I added this cool berry wreath and some burlap to the front and one of my signs and berrys to the top. Simple, but makes a statement.
I kept my mantle simple this year as well as we now have the television over it. I kept my wood blocks up changing the saying to Harvest, a couple pumpkins and a Fall Banner. That is a real pumpkin on top of a wine crate with faux leaves. I hate the wires, but will figure some way to cover them. Suggestions? Linking to www.confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com
