Hand Painted Christmas Ornaments

Hello and welcome to the 2019 Christmas Ornament Exchange!

You can see all of the beautiful ornaments at the Christmas Ornament Link Party here.

We would also love for you to link up as many handmade ornaments as you would like.

The more the merrier!

This is my fourth time participating in the ornament exchange and I look forward to it each year.

Not only do I get to make a handmade gift for a blogging friend, but I also get to receive one!

I have to give a huge shout out to my talented friend, Erlene, from My Pinterventures for hosting this ornament exchange.

It is a huge undertaking and she has it down to a science. Thanks Erlene!

This year, I was partnered with Chelc from Inside The Fox Den.

She likes pastel colors and metallics, so I kept that in mind when creating this hand painted ornament for her.

I really hope she likes it!

Supplies Needed For Hand Painted Christmas Ornaments

Step 1.

Start with a white glass ornament. Be sure it is free of dust or fingerprints.

Step 2.

Remove the bottle cap on the rose quartz paint and replace it with the fine writer tip.

This was my first time using this tool and I seriously love it!

It’s so easy to use and you really feel like an artist painting with it.

Step 3.

Slowly add lines, flowers, snowflakes-any design that you like.

You can look for design inspiration first, or just go with it.

I was going for a paisley type design, but just went with vines and loops.

The most important thing is to just have fun with it.

Step 4.

Continue to paint the ornament until you are happy with the design.

I love how the shimmery metallic paint looks against the white ornament.

Step 5.

Add a ribbon for hanging. I used pink tulle, because what goes better with a pink painted ornament than tool, right?

I hope you enjoyed this hand painted ornament. I’d love to hear if you give it a try.

I think you’ll be surprised at just how easy it is with this handy tool.

I didn’t know you could buy fine tips and replace the paint cap with them. Good job, DecoArt! I love the rose paint you used against the white ornament. Gorgeous!
