The best part about these felt roses, aside from how easy they are, is that you don’t need an electric cutting machine.

While I used a handheld machine, you don’t need it to make these felt flowers.

I include a template that you can trace onto felt and cut with scissors.

Of course, a machine makes it easier, but I wanted to give you that option.

Craft Lightning is all about making something in 15 minutes or less and these pretty felt roses can definitely be made in that time.

Step 1.

Start by folding the felt sheet in half and placing it on the big shot die.

The name of this die is Original Spirals Flower.

If you don’t have a Big Shot Cutting Machine, you can just trace the below template onto felt and cut it with scissors, but it would take longer than 15 minutes.

You can also use a Cricut or other cutting machine, if you have one.

Here is the free template for a spiral flower you can trace onto the felt to cut out if you want to try it:

I found the free image on Pinterest here.

Step 2.

Run the folded felt through the Big Shot. You will have two roses that come out looking like this:

The great thing about this is you really only need a dab of hot glue to hold this pretty rose together.

Step 3.

Glue the roses together. I received this great Cordless Glue Gun for Christmas and it is AMAZING!

A glue gun is probably my  most used crafting tool and this makes it so much easier!

Each felt sheet can make 4 flowers so for this arrangement of 12 I only needed 3 sheets-making this a very inexpensive project.

Step 4.

Start rolling the flower from the skinny end working your way towards the larger end.

When you have it completely rolled, add a dab of hot glue to the end to secure it.

Step 5.

That’s it! Now you just have to decide how you want to decorate with them.

There are so many things you can do with these roses.

I chose to hot glue them to decorative straws and place them in a mason jar my daughter bought me for Mother’s Day.

However, you can add them to picture frames, or a pillow.

The possibilities are endless! I also made a bunch to add to a chalkboard sign, and a pretty spring pillow.

Use whatever colors that you like.

I love pink, so I made an entire collection of those, but I just ordered some blue felt.

This same idea can be used to with book sheets, even the thin faux leather sheets that most craft stores carry now.
