I made the wood pumpkins out of old 2×4’s cut into different sizes and added them to my wrought iron stand with fall leaves. I bought the scarecrow at Scituate Art Festival (which is coming in 2 weeks yippee!) This is the other end of the porch with my all time favorite swing. I added […]
I scored this awesome rug on clearance at Kohl’s. It really anchors the rocking chairs. I added my DIY pillows from another post and some burlap on the little side table warm it up. I sat out here tonight reading and it was very peaceful. The DIY drop cloth curtains give privacy and warmth.
Like so many of you, I love fall decorating and my favorite place to decorate is my farmer’s porch. I spend a lot of time here at least until it gets too cold. I saw these adorable pumpkin topiary’s all over blog land and was psyched when Michael’s had the pumpkins 50% off. I used […]
My friend Elaine, who I have literally known since I was 15-(that’s a lot of years) asked me to refinish the top of her beautiful cherry table. I was a little nervous because it is a beautiful piece of furniture, however, the top had a large stain. She wanted a white finish, but wanted some […]

I have been seeing these really cool coffee bars posted on Pinterest and I wanted to free up space on my counter so, I got to work on a kitchen buffet I had, first giving it a quick coat of Annie Sloan old white. I made a coffee bar sign for the top, added my […]
I enjoy this time of year with the humidity fading away and life getting back to a somewhat normal routine, with kids going back to school and a slower pace during the work/school week. I crave down time sitting on either my porch swing or rocker reading, surfing, blogging and creating. I totally could be […]
Had a few days off so decided to work (play) on some painting projects. I had Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue from another sign so used that for this Life Is Good sign. For the letters I used ballet pink acrylic paint. Light stain of minwax mahogany.
I was looking for a small table to put in my master bath for extra storage and found this old table that was in desperate need of a facelift! I gave it a coat of my favorite Annie Sloan old white, sanded it for the shabby chic look I was going for and used a […]
