SUPPLIES FOR YARN CHRISTMAS TREES

STEP 1. FOLD THE POSTER BOARD

Simply fold the upper corner of the poster board with the other end and overlap it. Or use a foam cone.

STEP 2. CUT POSTER BOARD TO SIZE

Trim the bottom so it is even. Staple or hot glue so it is secure. I made 3 different sizes so I could stagger them.

STEP 3. CUT YARN

Use your fabric scissors to cut your yarn. Place one piece around the cone to measure the length and cut as many as you need for the size of the cone.

STEP 4. HOT GLUE YARN TO CONES

Next up, you want to glue the yarn to the cone. It’s easiest to start at the top of the cone and work your way down. You really don’t need much glue.

STEP 5. FILL THE CONES WITH PAPER

If you are using poster board, you need to fill in the hollow center. I used packaging paper. For the foam cone, move on to the next step.

STEP 6. SECURE THE STICK

Add the stick to the cone with extra hot glue until it is secure.

STEP 7. CUT A HOLE IN THE WOOD BASE

Use a craft knife to cut a small hole in the wood base that fits the wood stick.

STEP 8. SECURE WOOD STICK IN BASE

Use your hot glue gun to secure the tree stick into the base. You need to hold it for a minute or so until it sets.

STEP 9. ADD MOD PODGE AND GLITTER

Use a foam brush to brush mod podge around the yarn tree. Slowly pour glitter around on the trees for extra sparkle.

Decorate with your beautiful Yarn Christmas Trees!

I chose to glue a sweet little deer to the wood base.
