EASY DIY THRIFTED GHOST PAINTING

Let's make the cutest Halloween ghost painting using an inexpensive thrift store canvas. This is a viral TikTok trend that is super fun, easy and inexpensive. I'm sharing simple tips on how to paint a ghost, bats and pumpkins.

SUPPLIES FOR HALLOWEEN GHOST PAINTING

– DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paints – Assorted Paint Brushes – Mod Podge  – Thrift Store Painting

STEP 1. PAINT THE BATS

Use a narrow brush and start with a pointed oval shape for the body. Add pointy bat ears and wings.

STEP 2. DARKEN THE PLANTS

Add black detailing to the plants and beach scene to give it more of a spooky look.

STEP 3. PAINT A GHOST

Use your fine paint brush and paint the ghost with acrylic paint. Start by creating an outline of the ghost.

STEP 4. FILL IN THE GHOST

Continue painting the ghost until it is as thick as you want it. You will need 2-3 coats of paint.

STEP 5. ADD GHOST EYES

Use the bottom of the paint brush dipped in black paint and add two ovals for eyes. Create layers on the ghost with a mix of white and gray paint to highlight the side and bottom of the ghost.

STEP 6. ADD PUMPKINS AND SHADING

Add a couple of pumpkins by the rock area. This pop of orange really stands out against the gray spooky scene. Finish off the pumpkin with a small stem and add a little shading for texture and dimension.

STEP 7. MAKE A STORMY SKY

Darken the sky and beach scene using gray and white paint mixed together. This makes the sky look like a storm is coming-perfect for a spooky night.
