Title 2

How to Make

Yarn Wrapped Hearts  From Cardboard

SUPPLIES FOR YARN WRAPPED HEARTS

– Pink Chenille Yarn – Scrap Cardboard – Scotch Tape or Hot Glue Gun  – Fabric Scissors – Pencil or Marker

STEP 1. TRACE A HEART SHAPE ON CARDBOARD

The first step is to draw a heart shape onto a piece of cardboard. Use a free printable Valentine heart or freehand one. I traced a heart ornament.

STEP 2. CUT OUT YOUR HEARTS

Trace and cut out as many hearts as you need. I made 12 for a banner.

STEP 3. START WRAPPING CARDBOARD HEARTS

Tape or add a dab of hot glue to the heart and attach your yarn.

STEP 4. COMPLETELY COVER CARDBOARD HEARTS

Continue wrapping the heart with yarn until it is completely covered.

STEP 5. TIE THE END OF THE YARN

When you get to the end and there is no more cardboard showing, tie a knot at the end of the yarn and snip it so it doesn’t show.

STEP 6. ATTACH A PIECE OF YARN FOR A BANNER

If you are planning on decorating with the hearts on their own (not in a banner) you are done.

STEP 7. TIE THE HEARTS TO A BANNER

Tie each heart to a long piece of twine or use an adorable pompom garland like I did!
