STEP 2. PAINT THE DESK

First, I gave the desk a coat of white paint.

STEP 3. MIX THE EPOXY

Mixed the epoxy resin according to the directions. It is very important to use the exact measurements of 1 part resin and 1 part hardener, otherwise the resin won’t set properly.

STEP 4. REMOVE ANY AIR BUBBLES

Use a mini propane torch or heat gun to get rid of any air bubbles. You can also use a straw to blow the bubbles out.

STEP 5. MIX THE PAINT

The technique I am using is called a paint pour. Mix the colors that you want to use ahead of time. Be sure to follow the exact instructions for your type of epoxy and paint.

STEP 6. BLEND THE PAINT

Start by pouring the paint all over the desk and then blend it together. I used a combination of my hands and a heat gun. Have fun with it and blend it as much or as little as you want.

It really creates a unique look with lots of detail. Black and white would look really elegant. Try different colors and just experiment! It needs to cure about 72 hours.
