HOW TO DECOUPAGE WITH NAPKINS

Let me show you how easy it is to turn an inexpensive dollar store glass vase into a gorgeous chinoiserie inspired blue and white vase with just a few inexpensive supplies.

SUPPLIES FOR DECOUPAGE VASE

– Chinoiserie Napkins – Foam Brush – Glass Vase – Mod Podge – Scissors

STEP 1. CLEAN THE GLASS

Clean the glass to make sure it is free from dust, etc.

STEP 2. SEPARATE THE NAPKIN

Remove the second layer from the napkin, leaving just the chinoiserie printed top layer.

STEP 3. CUT THE NAPKIN

Cut the napkin to the size you want.  I found it was easier to start with a large square for the center of the vase.

STEP 4. APPLY MOD PODGE

Use the foam brush to paint mod podge directly on the vase.

STEP 5. SMOOTH NAPKIN

Smooth the napkin onto the mod podge.

STEP 6. COVER THE EDGE WITH TWINE

Repeat the same process with mod podge on the vase and add the napkins until the vase is covered.

STEP 7.  ADD A TOP COAT

Allow the mod podge to dry then add a top coat of mod podge. That's all there is to it.
