Fall home tour with neutral shades in the living and dining room.
Hi friends and welcome to my 2016 Fall home tour! I am so happy to be participating in this year’s Fall Home Tour hosted by Meg at Green With Decor.
There are over 30 bloggers sharing their Fall decorating ideas with you! I was so inspired when I saw all the beautiful photos. Be sure to check out the other homes listed below.
If you’re dropping by here for the first time, welcome! My name is Michelle, I live in Connecticut and have two grown children.
I absolutely love Fall and enjoy decorating always, but especially at this time of year. Living in Connecticut we have some amazing foliage.
This is the view from the back of my townhouse during the Fall season:
How could I ever tire of that view? I love to decorate in neutrals, with lots of texture. You will see hints of fall throughout my home.
Natural elements mixed in with pops of blue are my favorite decorating element this time of year.
Today I am sharing my living room and dining room. Be sure to come back next week as I’m participating in an Outdoor Fall Home Tour with some really great bloggers!

The living room space is open to the dining room so I like to decorate in the same color scheme.
There are so many DIY projects throughout this space, so if you have any questions, please email me.
I also share most tutorials on my blog, so you can search in the sidebar. I have really scaled back how I decorate.
As I’ve gotten older, clutter really bothers me, so I like to celebrate each Season but in a more subdued way. In the living room I change out the throw pillows with fall pillows:
I just made the gold and silver leaf pillow using my Cricut Explore Air . I have been having so much fun with that making all kinds of things!
Luckily I have a friend at work who has one too and we just started weekly Cricut parties once a week after work.
This is our space for television watching, so I don’t put anything too large on the coffee table. It is a pain to have to move something to watch television!
I just made that cotton boll pumpkin yesterday and I really love it! You can find the tutorial here .
I love dried hydrangea and created the white pumpkin and hydrangea centerpiece last year. The tutorial is here .
A galvanized metal bowl filled with moss covered pods, cotton bolls and a blue ceramic pumpkin complete the coffee table decor.
You know how some houses have Dad’s chair? Well this is Mom’s chair:
My favorite IKEA Ektorp chair! This is the perfect spot to read or blog. I always have a cozy throw and pillow.
Would you believe this darling feather pillow is from Five Below? I’m on a big metallic kick this Season, as you will see with my mantle.
It’s nice to use trays to anchor pieces. The little wood pumpkins are another DIY project. I will share a tutorial this week.
Now onto my favorite thing to decorate…the mantel!
I told you I was all about metallics this year! They are all over the home decor stores too! Some silver adhesive foil leaves and rhinestones grace the white pumpkins at the hearth.
Silver spray paint transforms a couple of Dollar Store pumpkins.
I’ve been busy this week! Just finished the paper leaf wreath using metallic paper from Cricut as well.
Every year I try to do something different on the mantle. I get bored easily! Here is another pillow using gold adhesive foil.
I’ll tell you a secret about the pillow-it’s a tote bag that I cut the handles off and stuffed with poly fil.
If you’ve visited here before, it is my favorite craft to make. A thrifty way to have lots of throw pillows!
The dining area is simply decorated with this gorgeous vase of sunflowers from FTD! How lovely are these?
Sunflowers are my all time favorite for the Fall season. Thank you FTD for this stunning arrangement.
The bakers rack receives some subtle fall decor. A few more of my shabby wood pumpkins in the window:
I will be sharing a fall tablescape October 11th and would love if you would come back and check it out.
Here is a hint-my theme is “Rustic Glam” think lots of natural elements with pops of glam! I’m really looking forward to this!
I’ll see you next week with my outdoor space! Thank you so much for visiting Our Crafty Mom! Check out all of the Fall goodness below!
