Thrift Store Desk Makeover With D. Lawless Hardware

Sharing is caring!

See how easy it is to update a thrift store desk with paint and new hardware.

Welcome to August’s Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest™! This month our sponsor is D. Lawless Hardware.

This is my first time working with them and I was thrilled when I saw they were the sponsor.

This family-owned company is known for their huge selection of knobs, pulls, and embellishments, as well as great prices and customer service.

This post is sponsored by D. Lawless Hardware.  Although this post is sponsored all opinions are my own. I only promote product I believe in!

It was so fun to browse their website and find the perfect hardware for my project.

Check out this great photo showcasing just a few samples:

The theme for this month is “Class it Up”!  I picked up a thrift store desk at my favorite store for $12.

This is the piece I am working with:

Great size and in good condition, but very bland. Just look at all those knobs screaming to be updated!

Right away I knew crystal knobs would be perfect for the “Class it Up” theme.

As always, I first gave this thrift store desk a good cleaning and then lightly sanded it.

It then received two coats of  DecoArt Americana Chalk Paint in Everlasting.

The gorgeous finish was achieved with my new favorite Daddy Van’s Beeswax.

Of course,  the star of the show are the gorgeous pink acrylic knobs from D. Lawless Hardware.

They really look like glass and with the satin nickel base they are just perfect for this thrift store desk!

Here is the finished piece:

My favorite thing to do on drawers lately, is to line the sides with pretty decorative paper.

As I totally envision this desk in a little girls room and wanted to enhance the pink knobs, what better option than pretty pink and white paper!

See how it just makes the pink knobs pop?

Those pink knobs are perfect. Adding paper to the pull outs is a really cute surprise for the user as well. Very well done.
