Fall Balcony Decor
As soon as the leaves start to turn for the autumn season, it’s time to transform our small balcony into a cozy fall retreat that reflects the beauty of the season. Bring on all things pumpkin spice!
Whether you have a spacious patio, large deck, or petite balcony, these fall balcony decor ideas can be used in any outdoor space.
So grab a cup of cider and let’s dive into some inspiring ideas that will transform your outdoor space into a warm and welcoming retreat.
Bring in Comfortable Seating
This is my new favorite spot to sit and enjoy the fall weather in New England. The gorgeous teak patio set is from Lowe’s.
I’ve been in this home for 3 years and did not have a comfortable patio set to enjoy outside. That is no longer a problem!
Not only is this set the perfect size for this small space, it’s also a rich teak wood and extremely comfortable.
My adult daughter and I share this space, so this is just perfect for us. We meet up after work and catch up on our day. With the harsh New England winters just around the corner, we are enjoying every bit of fall weather.
Supplies for Fall Balcony
- Teak Patio Set
- Outdoor Rug – mine is no longer available, but this is similar.
- Cozy Throw Blanket
- Lumbar pillows
- Solar String Lights with Edison Bulbs
- Mums – I went with yellow and rust to add pops of color
- Carving Pumpkin
- Blue Fall Truck
- Outdoor Lanterns
All of these items are located in my Lowe’s Storefront for your convenience.
Add Fall Mums
The easiest way to add color and fall vibes is to add mums or other fall plants to your patio. The DIY vertical garden we added last summer is the perfect spot for a collection of bright and cheerful yellow mums. At the time of this writing, you can get select fall and Halloween decor up to 50% off.
Larger mums placed around the balcony add a cohesive look and even more color. A perfectly rusty antique milk jug was a birthday gift from my son. The rich burgundy mums look lovely in this piece.
Don’t Forget Seasonal Accents
If you follow me on Facebook you know the first thing I do to welcome any new season or holiday is to hang a DIY wreath on my door. It’s the easiest way to welcome friends and family to your home.
Quick tip: stock up on command hooks for holiday decorating. These come in so handy!
One item that has been a huge timesaver for me are these vinyl siding hooks. They are super easy to use to hang wall signs, wreaths and other outdoor decor without causing any damage to the vinyl siding.
Add warmth with rugs, throws and pillows
The weather gets a little cool during the autumn season, especially at night. There is nothing better than snuggling outside under the stars with a soft throw, cup of warm tea or maybe a sparkling apple cider.
An area rug adds texture and dimension, plus ties the entire space together.
Don’t Forget the Lights
Outdoor lighting is not only great for ambiance, but it also helps add to that cozy factor we all love. A blend of twinkling fairy lights, solar string lights and white lights on floor plants look magical at night.
