As I’ve mentioned many times before, Fall is my favorite Season! I have such fond memories of my Mom & this Season & attending yearly art festivals, especially the Scituate Art Festival, which was this weekend (squeals with excitement). My Mom took art lessons the last few years of her life & I remember how happy she was when she came home from class. I have a picture she painted of me that she framed for my birthday & while it is obviously not perfect, it is perfect to me because she created it with her own hands especially for me. I will cherish it forever! Here is a pic of it:
I have recently downsized & have been trying to incorporate as many of my favorite things as possible without overcrowding the new space. I had fun finding new uses for things such as this wrought iron planter & hanger that used to be on my porch. I used it in my living room & love it! I put some cool squash that look like pumpkins to me in the hangers & added a fake white pumpkin in
the planter with faux fall leaves & flowers.
This vignette is one of my favorites & while it is simple, it looks so pretty when you walk in the front door. I found this little bird cage 80% off at Michael’s & put one of my favorite owls inside & a berry wreath around it. I found the beautiful lampshade at Goodwill for $5.99! I showed the demijohn in a prior post that I decorated with twine. The buffet is a piece that I refinished with chalk paint.
For my coffee table I painted a serving tray & added berries and leaves with a hurricane globe. I found these cool moss balls also 80% off & simply placed them on top of my silver candelabra.
Next to the fireplace I put my hutch that was a craigslist steal for $35! I again refinished it with chalk paint. I added a fall banner, some scarecrows & various fall decor to the shelves including this
great framed art from https://www.onsuttonplace.com/
I showed the fireplace mantel in a prior post, but here is a pic:
I placed my pumpkin topiary on the hearth along with this cute little chair with a burlap sack & mum. The little burlap sack is from Decor Steals-love that site!
Moving on to the dining area, I used this old tool caddy as a centerpiece & simply filled it with real pumpkins, squash & gourds. I decorated the bakers rack with some pieces that I have had for years.
In the kitchen I used an old pallet board to make the pumpkin sign,
placed sunflowers in blue mason jars in the window, and added a pumpkin to my thrift store scale that I picked up for $2.99. I am so in love with this rooster that I found for $5 at a thrift store. The colors are beautiful in the blue kitchen! I am blessed to have this incredible view as you see in the second picture. I can literally sit & stare at it forever!
