I’m really excited about this next project! Dare I say it is my new favorite! I was outside last night on my deck about 10 PM drilling holes as I knew I would not be able to sleep until I finished this. Please tell me I am not the only one like this?! This piece had been sitting in my garage for years. I had no idea what it was & even showed a pic on FB asking if anyone had any ideas. Finally I took a good look at it and thought the front piece looked like a window box, or could look like one. Here is the before:
And the after:

Cool right? I simply painted it with a couple of coats of outdoor white paint from my stash. I had an old block of wood, gave it a couple coats of black paint & stenciled my house number. I did spray a sealer on the whole thing. I drilled holes in the front planter box for drainage & added these beautiful violas that I picked up at Wal-Mart. As our driveway is set back from the road with no street lights, I also added mason jars with solar lights hot glued inside. I picked these up at Job Lot & the coolest thing is they change color from green to purple so they will look great at night. As there were all the dowels I added little things like a grapevine wreath, welcome sign, and check out the little hanging owl-I’m on an owl kick lately.
