DIY Garden Bench Makeover
If you have visited here before, you know how much I love to refinish furniture.
I especially love to take an old piece and give it new life.
That is certainly what I did with this poor garden bench given to me by my Dad.

This garden bench was in rough shape and I am embarrassed to admit that I have had this sitting by my front door for close to two months-eek.
As I am now decorating the front for Fall, I figured I better get to it and show it some love. Check it out now:
So much better! The metal was in great shape but the color was very dull and once I painted the wood black I just wasn’t feeling it.
I used my orbital sander to get off all the old finish on the wood.
Just taking that chipped paint off made such a difference.
I mixed up some Old Fashioned Milk Paint in pitch black adding Extra Bond so it would adhere.
I gave it two coats of paint, then used Safecoat Acriglaze Matte Finish to protect it from the elements.
This really took no time at all and I don’t know why I procrastinated.
