Make a fun boho inspired ceramic tile planter box for about $6!
Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing a really quick and easy boho ceramic tile planter box, that can be made in about 15 minutes-minus drying time.
You know I’m an impatient crafter, so quick crafts are my favorite.
I hope you enjoy them too.
I’m so happy to be teaming up with a talented group of crafty bloggers in the Creative Craft Blog Hop hosted by Chloe from Celebrate & Decorate and Andrea from Design Morsels.

Like so many of you, I’m slightly obsessed with Pinterest.
I’ve always said it’s the best and worst thing to happen to me because I want to make everything I see.
Please tell me I’m not the only one?
A couple of years ago I saw these amazing moroccan planters from the uber talented Claire from Pillar Box Blue.
I added them to my ever growing list of things I wanted to make.
Lo and behold I was at Lowe’s and saw these gorgeous 12×12 ceramic tiles with a really cool boho feel.
They were only $1.27 each, so I picked up four so I could finally make a planter box.
Here is the super simple tutorial:
Supplies needed for boho chic planter box.
- 4 12×12 Ceramic Tiles
- Liquid Nails
- Painter’s Tape
Step 1.
Run a bead of liquid nails along the edge of the ceramic tile.
Step 2.
Line up a second tile against the first tile with the liquid nails and hold it for a couple of minutes.
Step 3.
Secure the ceramic tiles together with painter’s tape.
Step 4.
Repeat with the remaining two tiles and add the painter’s tape to the remaining two tiles. Let dry overnight and remove the tape.
Now all you need to do is add your favorite plant.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a green thumb at all, so I added a cool snake plant.
If you want to add a real plant, you can either keep it in the pot, or add a plastic bag to the planter box before adding the plant.
Decocrated Summer Box Decor
I really wanted to create a summer vignette on this entryway table and this boho planter was a perfect anchor.
Next up, I used a few items from the Decocrated Summer Box to complete the vignette.
The pretty blue striped runner is actually a rug and it fits great on the table.
The gorgeous mirror with a gold chain, and the succulent planter are from the summer box.
The blue clock is from a prior box. You can see the full unboxing in the included video.
One of my favorite pieces from the box was a gorgeous tiered tray that has so many uses.
Tiered Tray Styling Ideas
It is the perfect size to hold Bailey’s Red Velvet Cupcakes.
Or to use on your table with a pretty lemon theme.

There are so many gorgeous ceramic tiles in all different sizes, so you can really be creative with this project.
After I made it and saw that you could see the inside of the box, I thought it would be fun to paint the inside with a bright pop of color.
So now I need to buy some more to try it out.
Wouldn’t a bright pink or blue be really pretty?

Hi Michelle. This planter is wonderful. I love it because of the size, when I first saw it, I thought it was the little tiles, but making it with the big tiles is so much more impressive. Love this project.

Michelle, so good to see your creativity again. I've never seen a project like this one. Tiles are so inexpensive. The tile design is beautiful. You actually gave me an idea: I have that same design in a stencil from A Makers' Studio. I will have to try using it for a planter box. Thanks for sharing.

This is so cool, Michelle! When I first saw the photo, I thought it was a stenciled tile. This is so much faster and easier to make. I really need to check out those tiles! It would make a nice housewarming or hostess gift along with a plant. Thanks for sharing! It's always a pleasure to hop with you, my friend :)
