Let me show you how easy it is to make a farmhouse style wood bead pumpkin with a dollar store pumpkin, wood beads and a hot glue gun. The best thing is, it can be made in under 15 minutes!

We are back with another edition of Craft Lightning where all the projects shared are completed in under 15 minutes. There is nothing better than a quick and easy craft, right? This month’s theme is all about hot glue crafts, which I love!
I’ve talked many times about how my most favorite crafting tool is my cordless hot glue gun. Well, two of our Craft Lightning hosts, Angie Holden and Carolina Moore, have recently published a book Hot Glue Hacks and Crafts: 50 Fun and Creative Decor, Fashion, Gift and Holiday Projects to Make with Your Glue Gun. How awesome is that? There are so many cool, unbelievably creative ideas for things to make with a glue gun. I’m talking really fun things that you would never think of making! If you enjoy crafting, you should definitely check out this book. With the Holidays rapidly approaching, it would be a great gift for your crafty friends too!
Every year I try to make a few new pumpkins to add to my ever growing DIY pumpkin collection. I will share some links at the end of this post to some of my favorites if you want to check them out. Let me show you how quick this wood bead pumpkin came together.
Wood Bead Pumpkin
Supplies
- Wood Craft Beads
- Surebonder Cordless Glue Gun (this is my absolute favorite glue gun-it’s cordless!)
- Dollar Store Burlap Pumpkin
- Embellishments of your choice-I used a few fall leaves and cotton stem.
This is the dollar store pumpkin I started with:
All you do to make this cute wood bead pumpkin is to hot glue the beads to cover the entire pumpkin. You can add them horizontally or vertically, whichever you choose. You can see the stem that is on the pumpkin is too small, so I just added a larger wood stick from my yard.
Once the pumpkin is completely covered with wood beads, add fall leaves or any embellishments you would like. I added a small cotton stem to add to the farmhouse look that I was going for.

If you want a more classic look, you could even spray paint the beads orange first, or use colored beads for a fun look. I love how this little pumpkin looks mixed in with a few neutral fall leaves and a mercury glass candle holder.
I would love to hear if you make one of these wood bead pumpkins. If you do, please leave me a comment below to let me know. Save this project by pinning the photo below:
