Welcome friends! I am so excited to be sharing this Candle Luminary Sleeve tutorial today. The fact that it is for American Home™ by Yankee Candle® makes me so happy, as I have so many wonderful memories of Yankee Candle® going back to my teenage years!

My Mom always had a Yankee Candle® burning on the stove in the kitchen and of course, it matched the Season. I remember vividly the smell of fresh flowers in the Spring and fruit in the Summer. As soon as Fall hit it was Spiced Pumpkin and Warm Apple Crisp. Balsam made an appearance right after Thanksgiving. It was such a comforting feeling to come home from school and smell those wonderful fragrances. It is something I continued once I was married with my own home and my 20 year old daughter has the same obsession with Yankee Candle®.

When Christmas rolls around you can bet there will be candle giving amongst our family and friends. Not just any old candle will do, it has to be Yankee Candle® . I was thrilled when I was shopping at my local Walmart and saw a large display of American Home™ by Yankee Candle® on the shelves. I did a double take and may have done a happy dance in the aisle! Sure enough, the wonderful fragrances from my beloved Yankee Candle® sat on the shelves of Walmart! You can find them right in the Home Section which is in the middle right of the store. Look at the great selection:
To be able to buy my favorite candle at Walmart is so convenient and saves so much time. I was able to get my grocery shopping done and candle gifts all in one stop. I went with Homemade Pumpkin Pie and Buttercream Frosting and let me tell you, these candles did not disappoint! The Buttercream Frosting filled my home with the wonderful fragrance that I remembered from my childhood. The American Home™ by Yankee Candle® line is such a great value with the quality that we have come to expect from this beloved quality brand. There is nothing better than watching a family movie and having the incredible fragrances of the Season burning in the house.

As I will be gifting several of these wonderful candles I wanted to come up with a pretty candle sleeve and decided on a luminary sleeve stamped with winter trees. It really looks so pretty lit up at night as shown below:
Here is how you can make a Candle Luminary Sleeve:
Supplies
American Home™ by Yankee Candle® Fragrance of your choice
12 x 12 Sheet of Vellum
Rubber Stamp of Your Choice-I used Lovely As A Tree
White Embossing Powder
Versa-Mark Ink Pad
Heat Gun
Scissors or Paper Cutter
Adhesive
Instructions
Cut the vellum to fit the size of the candle. This is a great project because you can use them on any size candle. The small candles would make a great Teacher gift. Once the paper is sized, stamp the image where you want it on the paper. I wanted it to be at the bottom of the candle, but you can certainly center it if you like. Next, place embossing powder over the stamped image and use your heat gun over the embossing powder. I love this technique as the image appears like magic!
I can’t wait to gift these to my sisters and friends this Christmas and look forward to sharing the great news that you can now find our favorite candles at Walmart . What is your favorite American Home™ by Yankee Candle® fragrance?
Thanks for visiting Our Crafty Mom. Happy Holidays!

Hi Michelle, What a great idea for personalizing candle gifts! I didn't know that Yankee Candle Co had a line at Walmart. I'll definitely take a trip down the candle aisle next time I'm in the store.
You should know that your last stamping craft (the Christmas flour sack towels) inspired me to purchase rubber stamps for the first time EVER. :) I haven't made the towels yet, but I have had so much fun stamping our Christmas cards. Probably too much fun -- I went a bit overboard stamping envelopes front and back. LOL
This is such a great idea, I want to try making candle sleeves now. #HomeMattersParty
