Make A Keepsake Baby Hand Print Love Sign that can be made in under 30 minutes and for less than $15! You can’t beat that.
Looking for a quick and easy gift idea for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day? Let me show you how easy it is to make this adorable sign that would make a great gift for Grandparents too!

Having the sign and letters pre-made is a huge time saver. I normally try to DIY everything to keep costs down, but using coupons and finding the letters on sale made it cost effective to buy them.
I can’t show you the hand print and footprint and then not show you the little cutie they belong to! Meet Maggie, my 6 month old great niece:
How fitting that she is wearing a Love shirt-that was totally not planned! Isn’t she just adorable? I totally wish you could freeze them at that age. They grow up way too fast!

Start by rolling out the air dry clay, just like you would roll out cookie dough. It’s actually fun working with clay. There is so much you can do with it! Check out the sea shell themed wine charms I made here. The Activa Clay Roller Kit makes it so easy, but you can also just use a rolling pin.
Next, place the baby’s hand onto the clay trying to get a good impression. At this age it is a little hard to get their hand totally open, but it just makes it more realistic, right?
Then use a plastic knife to cut around the hand and foot and let dry overnight.
Give it a couple of coats letting it dry in between coats. I’ve seen this done in silver too and it looks great!
Isn’t it wonderful that you don’t have to bake this clay? I am an impatient crafter so this is may favorite product to use when working with clay. Then just hot glue the letters, hand print and feet making sure the feet form a V and you are done.
The sign already has rope ready for hanging. You can’t get much easier than that!

Oh my, that is such a lovely idea. I remember trying to prise our oldest's hand open when she was tiny to do hand print painting for a grandparent gift. She did NOT like the feel of that paint at all! This is a beautiful alternative. Love it! (my baby is 23 now so it was a while ago!)

Such a cute idea! I have a flower pot with my son's baby hand prints on it & it always amazes me how much he's grown. Pinning!

This is a special keepsake for sure. And your little great niece is so adorable. This is one way to keep the memory of a precious little girl. There is something so cute about their little hands and feet.
