Christmas Gift Wrapping Paper With Chalk Couture

5-gift-wrapping-ideas-with-kraft-paper-from-the-dollar-store

Last year was the first year I used shipping paper to wrap Christmas gifts and I loved how versatile it was. It looks so different just by changing out a ribbon or adding snips of pine. You can see 5 different ideas here.

Wrapping Paper Supplies

This year I decided to have fun with Chalk Couture and add pretty Christmas designs to the shipping paper. I love how it turned out! It literally took me about 10 minutes to wrap and chalk these two presents.

Now I’m thinking I can use the same process for Valentine’s Day, birthdays, etc. Plus, the shipping paper is from the dollar store! I may never buy wrapping paper again 🙂 Here is what I used:

Instructions

Simply wrap the gift with the shipping paper and place the Chalk Couture transfer on the paper.

This image shows the 4 easy steps for chalking:

For the first present, I used a classic red chalk and love how bright it is on the natural paper.

Red Chalk

One of the things I like is it does not take much chalk to finish a project. Whatever you don’t use, you can scrape back into the container. I am a messy crafter, as you can see below.

The other thing I love is, if you make a mistake just wet it and start over. Of course, not on paper, but on signs, wood, chalkboards.

Red Chalked Gift

I missed a little spot in the H, but I will go back in with a corner of the squeegee and dab a drop on it.  But honestly, it does not have to be perfect. Handmade is just that-imperfections and all!

Red Chalk

For the Joy transfer, I went with white and I can’t decide which I like better. I will admit I am not a fan of wrapping. But this I enjoyed. It really made it fun and I wanted to keep wrapping presents so I could continue chalking.

I hope this inspired you to decorate your own wrapping paper and for $1 a roll, you can experiment and really get creative.

I would like to know where I can purchase those transfers that you used for the wrapping paper. What a great idea.

Hi Michelle! Nice instruction for making Christmas Gift Wrapping Paper With Chalk Couture. But I am worried about the font you are using. I like your design. Can you tell me what font you have used for printing? I will follow your step and will give you a photo to review them.
