It’s time for another Movie Monday Challenge and this month is all about Star Wars IV: A New Hope. Can you believe May is the 40th Anniversary of the first Star Wars movie? I remember seeing it with my older sister. We both wanted to be Princess Leia every year for Halloween for a few years! And who didn’t have a crush on Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill?
My daughter’s friend Joseph is probably the biggest Star Wars fan I have ever met. He has some really cool Star Wars collectibles and I thought a Darth Vader String Art would be a fun addition.

I’ve made String Art before but just a silhouette so this was a little challenging. Since I wanted to ensure you could tell it was Darth Vader, I decided to leave the image on the board. Here is how I made it.
Darth Vader String Art
Embroidery Floss
Cut Tacks
Darth Vader Image
11×14 Piece of Wood
Hammer
Cut the image so you have a silhouette and place it on the board. Nail the tacks along the outer edge of the image and along the eyes.

I've wanted to play with string art for a long time, but I haven't tried yet. You've inspired me!

This would be a fantastic easy kids craft! My little ones want to play with their older brother's Star Wars stuff all of the time. This is a great way for them to get in on the action!

I think we were doing string art when the first movie was released! Kind of cool it's making the rounds again :)

This is great. I think that Joseph will love it. How could he not? You are always so creative.
