NO SEW BABY TUTU TUTORIAL

As you can tell by all the baby posts lately, I am having so much fun making things for the upcoming baby shower. Knowing the sex of the baby helps alot. I love the newborn baby girl photos in tutus. They are just adorable. So of course I had to make a pink tutu for the baby. I checked out all the tutorials and found one that was no sew-yay! It came together so easy that it is almost silly to do a tutorial but I figured if I didn’t know how to make one maybe others don’t either, so it’s worth sharing. You can either crochet a band about 12″ around, or if you want to save time they sell crochet headbands at craft stores for about $4. I bought 2 yards of pink tulle at Joann Fabrics (don’t forget your coupon) because I will be making other things, but you only need maybe 1 yard. For a newborn size you cut strips 12″ long by 2″ wide & fold each strip in half. I doubled up the strips to make it fuller. Just tie the strips in the first crocheted row. I did a “U” tie rather than a knot, as I think it looks neater. I didn’t count the strips but just filled all the way around. If you want it really full you could also tie another row above the first, but I felt it was full enough with just the first row of double strips. Of course I had to make a matching headband & barefoot baby sandals to match! There are wonderful tutorials on the sandals on Pinterest.
