Welcome to week 2 of the 6 week One Room Challenge hosted by Calling It Home. If you missed week 1 of my plans for a master bedroom retreat, you can read all about it here.

Of course there is a lot of planning that goes into a room makeover. Planning for this started in July and I am thankful to be partnering with some great sponsors. When I started thinking about what makes a bedroom feel luxurious, the first thing I thought of was sheets. I’m the first to admit I am a bit of a sheet snob. There is something to be said about crawling into bed at night onto sheets that feel like silk!
A huge thank you to Perfect Linens for sponsoring this week’s round. What makes Perfect Linens unique is you can shop for sheets based on how they feel. For example, the sheets I chose are called Second Skin in Garland Blue. They also have sheets called Easy Breezy-for hot sleepers or high humidity, Toastmaster-a flannel that feels like a big hug and let me tell you, these sheets are definitely what dreams are made of (pun totally intended).

As they specializes in sheets, you know you are getting a quality sheet. Not only do they test the sheets to ensure they are the most comfortable, but they also retest after multiple washes so you know the sheets will last. There is nothing worse than sheets that don’t hold up after you wash them. With a 45 night LOVE IT guarantee-including free shipping both ways-there is no concern about not loving these sheets!
Did I mention how pretty they are? As I am going for soft tones with pops of blue, the blue scalloped detailing is just what I was looking for! And wait until you see the navy bedding that will accompany these sheets. Can you tell I am just a little bit excited? Let’s give you an update as to the progress so far.
Remember the huge dresser I showed you? Next week I will share how the bed and dresser received a white wash finish with a quick and easy dry brush technique. This is so easy in fact, that my Son who does not have painting experience, completed it with just a few tips from me. Unfortunately, I threw out my back and have not been able to do much of anything. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you just have to go with it. The drawers also received gorgeous new glass knobs that I will tell you all about next week.
The paint finish really does look similar to my inspiration piece and I am stoked! Paint always makes a big difference. My Dad also came through for me with an old ladder that he picked up at a yard sale for $5!!
He had plans to make a farmhouse style blanket ladder for me, but when he saw this for $5 he knew it couldn’t even be made for that. Wait until you see the finished project! Here is what is in store for the next 4 weeks of the One Room Challenge:
- Week 3 – How to Whitewash Furniture
- Week 4 – DIY Hanging Light Project & Artwork
- Week 5 – Luxury Bedding & DIY Blanket Ladder
- Week 6 – Reveal

Beautiful linens! They are going to look great in the room! We had a ladder like that at my house growing up. I always wish I had managed to take it with me before other family members claimed it.

$5 ladder envy for sure! We found one at an antiques festival but it was $20 :( Oh well.
