Reindeer Food Poem
Children are enchanted by the wonder of Christmas, and they will be thrilled to scatter special reindeer food on their yard on Christmas Eve.
This is a fun tradition that the children will look forward to year after year. My children are grown, but still remember going outside on Christmas Eve to sprinkle reindeer food before bed.
The tradition has continued with my nieces and great nieces. Let’s keep the magic of Christmas alive as long as we can!! 🙂
Another cute Christmas idea for the kids is a Santa’s Good Behavior Certificate free printable. This same post includes a letter to and from Santa.
Ingredients
Include the kids in preparing the reindeer food during the day. It’s such a simple craft. This will add to the excitement of Santa’s arrival!
- 1/4 cup Old-fashioned Oatmeal or quick oats
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
- Glitter (animal-safe)
- Printable Poem – download below
Kitchen Tools
- Measuring Cups/Spoons
- Scissors
- Test Tubes or Small Bags
- Ribbon
Simply place all ingredients in a baggie, or test tube. Cut out the reindeer food poem and attach it with a pretty ribbon.
There is a printable craft/recipe card below to make it even easier! The most important thing is to just have fun with it. Enjoy!

It’s best to print this on cardstock, but you can use standard copy paper if you like. If you don’t have a printer, you can print it at Staples for about .50 cents or at your local library.
I’d love it if you would share this article with your friends on Pinterest by pinning the below image.
It helps my blog grow and doesn’t cost a thing! 🙂
