I was visiting my daughter in NH this past weekend and just had to stop at one of my favorite thrift stores. Both my children head right to the book section where they have a field day with books on philosophy, psychology, classic literature-all for either .50 or $1.00. I head right to the home section-this time on the hunt for a small footstool to go with my new IKEA reading chair (so excited!!). I thought I was out of luck until I found this stool hidden below one of the desks:
UPDATED FOOTSTOOL
It was exactly what I had in mind, was only $8.00 and the wood was solid but worn. However, I knew I would be giving it a whitewash anyway. I used Annie Sloan Old White for the legs, using a dry brush technique. I recovered it with a white cotton twill that exactly matched my IKEA fabric. I couldn’t leave well enough alone & added a french graphic for added interest. I think it is so cute!
