Total Time 1 hour
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 3/4 lb Ground Pork
  • 6 cups Hot Mashed Potatoes
  • 1/4 cup Chicken Broth
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Bell's Seasoning (to taste)
For pies
  • 2 Pie Crusts (9-inch double-crust pies)
  • Milk for brushing (optional)

Method

  1. Cook the ground beef and ground pork in a large skillet over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain.
  2. Remove from the heat. Stir in the hot mashed potatoes, chicken broth, salt and pepper.
  3. Add Bell's Seasoning a little at a time, tasting as you go, because it is strong.
  4. To serve as a side dish, serve warm.
  5. To make pies, heat the oven to 375°F. Line two 9-inch pie plates with crust, divide the filling between them, top with the remaining crust and cut slits in the tops. Brush with milk if desired.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until golden brown. Makes 2 pies.

Notes

Storage: Refrigerate within 2 hours of cooking and keep for 3 to 4 days. Reheat to 165°F.
