These are so easy to make and the materials are inexpensive. You can even check out the dollar store for mason jars and glitter.

This time of year is so busy and I am always looking for ways to save time and money.

How To Make A Mason Jar Light

Step 1. Remove any residue

First, make sure the jar is free of any fingerprints, stickers or residue.

Step 2. Spray the inside of the jar

Spray the INSIDE of the jar with spray adhesive.

Step 3. Add glitter

Give it a good coat, then add the glitter until you get the desired thickness.

I actually only use one coat of glitter because if you use too much the light will not be as bright.

Step 4. Add Lights

I have seen these made using battery-operated or LED tea lights placed in the bottom, but I find it is a pain to have to get the light in and out to turn it on or off.

So I was thrilled when I read about submersible lights

Not only do they last longer, but all you do is twist them to turn them on or off.

Quick tip: glue it to the underside of the lid so it is super easy to get to.

I used white glitter and purple vinyl for the larger jar and silver glitter and red glitter vinyl for the smaller one.

They even look pretty with the light off.

I plan to make some for boys as well. What do you think about green with a Ninja Turtle and silver and black with Batman? So many options!

I used my Cricut Explore Air to create the images.

I LOVE having a Cricut as there are so many things you can use it for.

This would make a great Christmas present for yourself!

That’s all there is to it! It is so much easier than I thought it was going to be.

I’ll be sure to share the others I make as well. What will your put on your mason jar light?
