Today I’m teaming up with 5 other Bloggers for a Furniture Refresh Challenge.

You all know how much I enjoy furniture flips, so I am completely psyched for this monthly furniture refresh challenge.

Here is the link for the March Furniture Refresh.

Decoupage Broadway Table Makeover

My daughter will be home from college for the summer soon and I wanted to surprise her with a mini room makeover.

Most of her furniture she has had since she was a kid and I am updating all the pieces before she gets home.

Thrift Store Table Before Makeover

I decided to start with her nightstand. It is a mission style table that I picked up a few years ago for $5 at a thrift store.

It is a great, solid table, just not my daughter’s style. She is a Theatre/Psychology Major and loves Broadway shows.

My plan was to do something cool to showcase her love of the Arts. I waited for inspiration to strike-and it did.

Thrift Store Table After Decoupage Makeover

Here is the after:

I was looking at shows that we could go see this summer and printed out playbills from some of her favorite Broadway shows. Then I would use mod podge to decoupage them to the table.

First, I gave the table a good cleaning and used a mix of Americana Chalk Paint in Yesteryear and Carbon giving it two coats.

Once that was dry I cut out the pictures creating a collage that fit nicely on the top and bottom shelf. Smooth any wrinkles with a credit card.

These are some of her favorite shows. It was tough to narrow it down, but I had to have Rent front and center, as that is her all time favorite.

This also has a lot of memories, as I took her to see Cats and Wicked. Matilda is planned for July.

I gave it a couple of good coats of mod podge to seal it. I finished it with a little dark wax to deepen it.

My daughter will love this piece, especially with the memories it brings.

We hope you enjoyed this challenge as much as we enjoyed participating.
