Candy Bark Treat Bags Inspired by Smurfs the Lost Village & Giveaway!!

Sharing is caring!

Growing up in the 80’s my sister and I were huge fans of  Saturday morning cartoons. The Smurfs were one of our favorite cartoons at the time. In fact, my Sister was nicknamed Smurfette by friends and family! To say that I am feeling nostalgic writing this post is an understatement. I was thrilled to be able to participate in the promotion for the new Smurfs Movie.  It looks like so much fun!

In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her best friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting adventure! The evil wizard Gargamel is back! The movie opens April 7, 2017 and is rated PG. I thought it would be fun to make some Smurf blue candy bark treat bags for the kids to take to the movie premiere with them. How cute are these little bags-perfect for a movie time snack?

I found these cute spring ziplock bags at the craft store and they just reminded me of Smurfette walking through the garden! I decided to print out some Smurf and Smurfette images to add to the treat bags. Candy bark is so easy to make and you can use any candy you like, but M & M’s really work well. Simply place the white candy melts in a microwave safe container and melt at 30 second intervals until they are completely melted. Be sure to stir in between. Also, it is best to only melt 30 seconds at a time, otherwise the candy can overcook.

Place the melted candy on a sheet pan covered with wax paper. Next, melt the blue candy the same way and pour over the white candy on the sheet pan. While the candy is still soft add M & M’s pressing into the candy. Place it in the refrigerator to set for about 30 minutes.

Finally, break it up into pieces and place in the treat bags. You can add the kids names to the bags if you like. Easy peasy!
