I’ve paired up with 19 other talented ladies to bring you a monthly Thrift Store Decor Upcycle Challenge.
Each month we will create a new home decor piece from an item(s) we’ve found at a thrift store, yard sale, resale shop etc.
There is no budget or specific theme so we are free to let our creativity run wild!

I am so happy to be back for this month’s Upcycle challenge.
You all know how much I love to update thrift store finds!
It really is so fun to see what all the other bloggers come up with.
Creativity at its finest. A big thank you to Amanda from The Kolb Corner for organizing this great monthly challenge.
I have been focusing on outdoor projects and wasn’t quite sure what I was going to share until I found this wrought iron candle holder at a yard sale for $3.
Check this out:
At first I thought I would spray paint it, but honestly the black was perfect for what I had in mind.
I made a DIY Chandelier planter!
Here is the finished project:
This was so easy to make. All I did was pick up 4 solar lights from The Dollar Tree and was thrilled when they fit perfectly in the candle arms.
I just took them off the stakes and used E6000 to glue them to the holder.
I thought it looked a little plain and was going to add some beading or something to decorate it further.
But when I went to my craft closet to look for something, I saw this old mason jar canning rack.
I had one of those lightbulb moments. I checked to see if it fit in the base of the holder and sure enough it was perfect.
Don’t you love when that happens?
I cut some coco liner to fit in the rack and added these beautiful plants.
I can’t wait till they fill in. I think it will really look pretty then.
I hung it from a shepherd’s hook by my front walkway to give us some natural light at night.
I am so happy with how this DIY Chandelier Planter turned out.
The best part-as I had everything but the solar lights-this baby only cost $10.
Keep your eye out for old chandeliers or candle holders at your next yard sale!
You could definitely paint it a fun color to match your decor.
Here is a picture of it at night:
