This was a project I started & had to put on hold until Graduation was over. Both of these items were roadside finds.
The chair was in need of a paint job desperately. It had graffiti all over it with words beginning with F-certainly not something we want to showcase for the kiddos, lol.
I gave both a good cleaning & painted the chair black. I love the stainless legs & left them as is.
It needed something though, so I decided to stencil numbers almost like a subway art. Love it!
Next I moved on to the desk. I thought a chalkboard top would be fun for kids to play tic tac toe on, etc.
I added a scrabble tile holder with wood glue to hold chalk and pencils. I chose to leave the bottom natural with a light stain.
Thought it was a nice contrast to the black. The bottom can hold coloring books, crayons, etc.
I will be selling this at an upcoming artisan event 07/26. I know my kids would have loved a desk like this when they were little. Happy Saturday!
