Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it and I have a fun project for you today inspired by the Creative Galaxy Heart Day Special which premieres on Amazon Prime on February 7, 2017! For all of you with younger kids this is such an incredible show. While my children are grown, I am lucky enough to be able to share my love of crafting with my great niece and when he was a little younger, my nephew. My nephew used to love to have sleep overs at Auntie’s and all he wanted to do was hang out in my craft room and make things or bake cookies. This show is so fun because they create all kinds of craft projects that kids just love! Plus look at how adorable these characters are?
I am so thrilled to be able to continue the crafting tradition with my 18 month old niece, Lori. Even at such a young age she loves to color. Here she is deep in thought creating a masterpiece-this little cutie has already been on a cruise!
Yes-she totally fell asleep coloring in her new coloring book-hey it’s not easy being a kid! We were able to watch an early premiere of this wonderful special and I was inspired to create this little tutu based upon one of the characters in the show named Epiphany.
In the special Epiphany is getting ready to perform in a show at Groovopolis but ruins her costume right before. Her friend Arty helps her find a way to fix her costume with the help of some friends across the Galaxy! Here is what you need to make your own Creative Galaxy Heart Day Inspired Tutu!
Supplies
- 6″ Roll of Tulle-I only used white but you can use more than one color if you like.
- Girls Crochet Headband-Found at craft stores
- Scissors
- Foam Hearts (This is for Heart Day afterall!)
- Hot Glue Gun or Fabric Glue
Cut the tulle in 15″ strips lengthwise. This will fit a toddler up to about 4 years old. You can certainly make it longer if you like, or shorter for a baby. Then just fold the tulle in half and run it through one of the holes in the headband securing it with a knot. Do this all the way across. I cut about 48 pieces total for this tutu. Then simply hot glue the hearts on the strips wherever you like. I remember how much my daughter and her friends loved playing dress up and I know my niece will enjoy this as well.

It includes an adjustable tool belt, coloring pads, painting with water, stickers, crayons and more. You can buy Arty’s Tool Belt on Amazon, and I know my niece is just going to love this fun activity kit! This is what is inside.
Don’t forget to tune in February 7, 2017 to check out this wonderful, educational show. Here is a link to the Creative Galaxy Heart Day Premiere.
I really enjoyed creating this fun project and I hope you enjoyed it. Have a great day and enjoy the show!
