Make an easy and fun DIY Bohemian Dreamcatcher with this quick tutorial.
I was browsing Pinterest the other day (shocking, I know) when I saw a really cool looking dreamcatcher. This was so different than the ones I remember my kids having when they were younger-the ones with feathers.
I liked how it looked almost shabby. Of course I had to add it to my “to do” list, which seems to grow longer by the minute! I am so happy I gave it a shot because it was so quick, easy & inexpensive. Here is a list of supplies:
- Embroidery Hoop
- Doily
- Twine
- Fabric Scraps and/or ribbon
- Glue Gun
I had leftover muslin on hand so I wrapped that around the hoop, but you could also use ribbon. I only used a dab of hot glue at the
beginning & end to secure it.
I picked up the doily in the $1 bins at Michaels-they had all kinds of colors, but I went with white. It fits perfectly inside the hoop. The good thing is the hoops come in a pair so you can make two!
I used twine to secure it to the hoop on all sides. Then I cut scraps of ribbon, lace & muslin in different lengths & tied it to the hoop.
I will definitely be making more of these in different colors & you can certainly add feathers if you want. Happy Saturday!
