For this month’s challenge I am sharing a quick and easy DIY Coastal Burlap Starfish Wreath that I made for my younger sister, Joanne. She lives in Florida and decorates her home in a coastal theme. She plans to hang this on her front door. It does have an awning to protect it from the elements.

Here is what I used to make this DIY Coastal Burlap Starfish Wreath:

Wire Wreath Frame 12″
Jute Burlap Ribbon
Natural Burlap Ribbon Light Blue
Large Starfish

These wire wreath frames make it so easy to create burlap and ribbon wreaths. Simply tie one end of the white ribbon to the outer wire and attach the ribbon under and over each wire ring until you get to the end, then tie another knot.

I leave plenty of ribbon throughout so I can go back and fluff it up until I am happy with the fullness. There really is no rhyme or reason to this. Simply ensure that the ribbon covers all of the wire so you don’t see any of the green. I did use 3 full rolls of the white and one roll of the blue. For the blue, I just wrapped it around leaving space in between to show the white. Then just attach 3 starfish using hot glue. It is as simple as that and there are no mistakes. Most of all just have fun with it.
