Turn an old chair into an awesome fairy garden chair planter that the kids will be enchanted with! Can be used indoors or out.
Welcome! I know I say this a lot, but I am really excited to show you my fairy garden chair planter! Remember I shared in my last post that I had another old free chair to refinish?
Well, I wanted to do something really different with this chair. Look what I did:

Like so many of you, I am thinking Spring. I love to have unique planters on my deck, where I spend a lot of time.
The chair that I was given by my lovely sister was an antique spindle chair, but the seat was broken. I was going to reupholster the seat and paint it, however, I really didn’t need another side chair.
Here is the original chair:
Make An Enchanted Fairy Garden Chair Planter
I’ve seen garden chair planters before where people put a plant in the chair. I’ve always loved them & thought this chair would be perfect for that.
When I was at the craft store, I saw an entire end cap with fairy gardens supplies and had a light bulb moment!
I thought it would be really cute to create a fairy garden in the chair and keep it on my back deck to enjoy when I am reading & blogging!
The individual items can be a little expensive. However, I drive by the craft store each day on my way home, and this week they had a 60% off coupon.
I stopped by each day to purchase an item for my little fairy garden. This really kept the cost down.
I wanted the chair to look old & chippy as if it had been in the garden for years, so I did a mix up of paints using white as the base and adding light brush strokes of blue.
Next, I sanded it to show some of the natural wood. A white planter that actually was a perfect fit for the chair was added.
Once spring arrives, I will add spring flowers, but for now I’m keeping this inside by my fireplace.
Burlap was added along with a coco liner and moss, then the little fairy garden pieces.
It was finished off with a little DIY burlap banner to hang across the back of the chair saying “believe”. I’m excited to add it to my back deck. The little girls next door will get a kick out of it.
I hope you enjoyed this fairy garden chair planter. If so, please pin the below image:
