Angel Decor
I’ve been collecting angel decor for many years. It brings a sense of comfort and peace to a space.
You may have seen the angel wings Christmas ornaments, or the stenciled angel wall art I made a few years ago.
My favorite piece is the oversized angel wings I scored on Decor Steals about 10 years ago.
The moment I saw this angel bottle craft on Pinterest, I had to give it my own spin. This beautiful craft would make a thoughtful memorial gift.
You only need 5 dollar store supplies and less than 30 minutes of your time to craft your own glass angel.
Let’s get to it!
Supplies for Glass Angel
- Hammered Glass Bottle – My Dollar Tree had clear and pink, but I’ve also seen them in purple and light blue. Be sure to get the bottle with the stopper as that will be the angel’s head.
- Angel Wings Ornament – mine are from Dollar Tree, but they are hard to find. If you can’t find them, here is a set of 6 angel wings ornaments on Amazon for under $10.
- Gold Metallic Paint – this is optional, but I love how it highlights the details in the wings
- Gold Pipe Cleaner – for the halo
- Rhinestone Gems
- E-6000 and Hot Glue
Step 1. Decorate the angel wings
The angel wings have a pretty iridescent look to them. They are just lovely on their own, but I love the look of gold metallic paint so I chose to paint just the bottom half of the wings.
The metallic gold paint gives the angel wings the elegant effect I was hoping to achieve. Let dry.
Step 2. Decorate the bottle
Everything is better with a little bling, so I added a few rhinestones to the top center of the bottle and also around the bottom.
A dab of hot glue with E-6000 works great.
This is where you can really get creative and have fun with how you decorate the bottle. Add ribbon, paint, or even sprinkle a little glitter on it.
I like the look of the hammered glass and didn’t want to cover it up, so I kept the embellishments to a minimum.
Step 3. Make the halo
Create a small halo for the top of the angel. This is what makes the angel come to life. Use pearls, rhinestones or a pipe cleaner as shown here.
Secure it with hot glue.
Step 4. Attach the wings
The final step is to attach the angel wings to the glass bottle. You will need a combination of both hot glue and E-6000 to ensure it is secure.
Hot glue gives that instant hold and E-6000 is a longer lasting hold.
I’m so happy with how it turned out. And you can’t beat the price. Budget-friendly creativity at its best!
This image shows the pretty iridescent look of the wings. Display this in a window and it almost looks like stained glass.
It looks so pretty in this Christmas vignette.
You see that pretty vintage angel ornament on the tree? That is another craft coming up this week.
Here is a close-up with the rhinestones.
This is one of those crafts that is so easy you wonder why you didn’t make it sooner!

Hi Suzanne. The wings are from Dollar Tree. They had feathers on them that I removed. Happy New Year!
