My family loves chocolate and peanut butter. It doesn’t matter if it’s candy, cookies, fudge-anything with that combination is a win.
When I saw these Reese’s Peanut Butter Christmas Trees from OMG Chocolate Desserts on Facebook I knew I had to make them! Instead of trees, I made gingerbread men and doubled the recipe.
This recipe is great because not only is it delicious, but it is also no bake! Plus, these can be prepared ahead of time and left in the freezer until you are ready to serve them.
With Christmas being so busy I am always looking for time savers!
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Chocolate Cookies
- 2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter-melted
- 4 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 16 oz. chocolate chips
Mix the first 5 ingredients until well blended then slowly add the powdered sugar. Press the mixture into a dish with parchment paper. Simply press it with your palms to flatten it about ½ inch thick. Place it in the freezer about 15 minutes.
Using a gingerbread man cookie cutter, cut them out and place them on a tray lined with parchment paper. Place them in the freezer for 60 minutes until completely firm.
Place them in the refrigerator until set. These seriously taste like Reese’s! They are very rich.
I found this adorable gingerbread plate at the thrift store and thought it would be perfect to serve the gingerbread men along with a Christmas mug of milk.
Let me tell you my daughter, who is home from College for the weekend, was in heaven! These are pretty large though and two people can split one. She already has a few wrapped up to take back with her!
I would love to hear if you have made these cookies or what your favorite Holiday cookie is. Be sure to visit the other bloggers linked below for tons of Holiday cookie recipes! Enjoy!
