It’s so hard to believe that Christmas is just a few short weeks away! Like so many of you, I am trying to get all the decorating and shopping done so I can actually enjoy Christmas with my family. This year I am shopping mostly online so that really saves a lot of stress. Now to finish the tree and get the presents wrapped and I am ahead of the game for once!
A big thank you to my friend Amy from My Life From Home for hosting this blog hop. Also, if you are looking for beautiful and unique Christmas gifts, Amy just launched her new store White Cottage Home with curated finds, gifts and home decor. I love to find original pieces that no one else will have and try to shop small as much as possible.
Now, let me show you my pretty small porch decorated for Christmas with lots of deer and DIY projects!
How To Decorate A Small Porch For Christmas
If you follow me on instagram you know that I am a Chalk Couture Designer and have been having so much fun creating with the gorgeous transfers they carry. You can check out their line of products here. I updated the entryway bench with a collection of DIY deer pillows. The two burlap pillows were made using Chalk Couture and pillow covers from the craft store. As I don’t sew (yet) using pillow covers and transfers is an inexpensive alternative to Holiday pillows, which can be costly. You can see how I made the middle pompom pillow here.
Can you believe those adorable red truck Christmas mugs are from the Dollar Tree? I scooped those up the minute I saw them! The hot cocoa sign was also made using Chalk Couture chalk paint. I told you I have been having fun with these products! You can literally make a sign in under 15 minutes. I am an impatient crafter, so this is perfect for me. A large wood slice is the perfect serving tray for this outdoor vignette.
This old Speedway sled is one of my all time favorite yard sale finds at $5! I love bringing it out each year.
Decorating With Olive Buckets
I love the versatility of decorating with olive buckets. As it gets closer to Christmas, I plan to place pretty poinsettias in them and bring them inside. For now, I placed flocked winter stems with pinecones and ornaments inside.

I found this deer at the thrift store for $2. He was a chippy red when I found him. After a couple of coats of white spray paint, he is right at home in this winter display.
These flocked trees were the only new purchase this year. At 70% off they were too hard to pass up! A lot of this decor can stay up all winter. Of course, I will have to bring a few things inside if there is a storm. But for the most part, it can all stay out.
Santa’s Village
I couldn’t resist adding another Chalk Couture sign at the top of the porch railing. This way to Santa’s Village with Santa and Mrs. Claus greeting guests at the top of the stairs!
Continuing with the deer theme, I added a copper and gold wreath to the front door. You can see the tutorial here.
A lighted garland finishes off the Christmas porch. I hot glued shatterproof ornaments to the simple garland to give it a little more detail.
