If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I love embroidery hoop crafts. The funny thing is I’ve never once embroidered anything! One of the most popular posts on the blog is this Embroidery Hoop Succulent Planter and this Faux Succulent Embroidery Hoop Wreath.

For today’s project, I decided to combine a few of my favorite things, embroidery hoops, felt flowers and Chalk Couture! You can learn more about Chalk Couture by visiting my product page here.

Here is a simple tutorial for felt flowers. There are so many things you can do with them, including adding them to frames, lamps, even attach them to headbands for babies!

How To Make Felt Flowers

Supplies:

If you are using felt craft sheets like I was, it is important to use the deep cut blade for the Cricut Explore Air 2, as the felt is thin and the regular blade will not be able to cut it.

However,  Cricut does carry stiffened felt sheets if you prefer.

Step 1.

Pull up Cricut Design Space on your computer or ipad:

Step 2.

Search for the flower you want to use. There are so many cool ones! I chose one of my favorites, a spiral rose:

Step 3.

Upload the photo and load the machine with your felt. You should be able to fit about 6 to each sheet.

Step 4.

Follow the prompts to cut the felt and each one will look like this:

Step 5.

Slowly roll the felt rose from the narrow end to the large end, adding hot glue as you roll:

Make as many as you want-it’s really so easy! Now that we have the felt flowers done, let’s add them to the embroidery hoop sign.

Step 2.

Hang the embroidery hoop onto the sign with a piece of ribbon.

Step 3.

Hot glue the felt flowers to the embroidery hoop. I chose to add them higher up on one side, but you can add them wherever you like.

Step 4.

Hang your beautiful sign and enjoy!

If you want to change out the sentiment, just use a little water to erase it and add something new!
