Welcome to the third annual 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!
Stop by every day from December first through the twelfth for new ideas you can use to make your season brighter!
Today is all about DIY Christmas Ornaments and I am sharing a quick and easy tutorial for Angel Wings Christmas Ornaments.
The first time I made these ornaments was about 4 years ago.
It is fun to give handmade ornaments each year as a little something extra for my family & friends.
Sometimes I’ll attach it to a gift, or include it with homemade candy or cookies for coworkers.
Here are 5 different styles all made the same way. You can use paper, glitter cardstock, poster board, batting, and even faux fur.
Let me show you the finished angel wings and then I’ll show you how easy they are to make.
How To Make Angel Wings
Supplies
- Batting For Crafts
- DecoArt Gesso
- Foam Brushes
- Extra Fine Glitter
- Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
- Dove Big Shot Die
- White Feathers
While I used a cutting machine, if you don’t have one, you can print out an angel wing image that you like and trace it.
The Big Shot Die I used is actually a dove, but the wings are perfect for angel wings.
I cut a piece of batting to the size of the die cut and ran it through the machine.
Next, use the foam brush to cover the wings with gesso then add lots of glitter!
It does take some time to dry, but once it’s dry add a pretty ribbon for hanging.
Here is another one I made using gold glitter cardstock.
It’s made the same way, but already has glitter so it’s not as messy!
One of my friends loves a shabby chic style, so I used scrap fabric to make this pretty shabby chic version.
The angel wings were cut with poster board and then I hot glued the fabric to the poster board so it was stronger.
A pretty rosette from the craft store completes this look.
I love me some faux fur so why not make faux fur angel wings?
I used scrap fabric from the craft store again adding it to the poster board and don’t you just love the rhinestone button?
You could decorate a tabletop tree in angel wings and use whatever you have in your craft stash. It is so simple.
Again, you don’t have to have a cutting machine.
Here is a template I found online if you want to use this to make your own angel wings.
I hope you enjoyed this ornament idea! Head on over to see all the other ornaments.
You will be so inspired! Come back tomorrow to see what we are sharing!

Love the idea of these angel wings, hope I have time to make at least a couple. I saw a post about when a bell rings an angel gets its wings in a little frame. These would be so gorgeous for that. Wish I could remember which blogger had that on her blog, as it's a keeper. ornaments

I love how your angel wings turned out and how they can turn into a pretty hanging ribbon once dry. I've always been obsessed with angels and now that I have my own place, I feel like it's the perfect time to decorate it with the things I want. It might be a good idea to look for a kneeling angel statue online and start choosing other decors from there.
